The story behind “becoming you”.
About the name
I chose the name and logo of this business with a lot of sincere consideration.
I have included helicopter or maple seeds also known as “Samara”, throughout my branding.
As a kid, I remember loving to watch the helicopter seeds dance through the air from the maple trees in my Aunt Carolyn’s front yard. My cousin and I would throw them into the air and watch them spin, waiting to see which one reached the ground first. I have always found them beautiful; the delicacy and intricate detail.
If you look into the science behind Maple seeds you will find that they have been designed to “fly away” for a reason. The seeds fly for survival. They are designed to travel as far away from their “parent” as possible so they have their own chance at life and are not competing for sunlight, water, and minerals. Those that are successful grow to become their own beautiful being.
Maple seeds are also referred to as “Samara” a word that means “Protected by God”.
My goal in the creation of “Becoming You Wellness” is to guide individuals to become not only who they want to be, but who they are meant to be; through the scope of health and wellness.
May we be like the Maple seeds, not afraid to fly into our own to discover the most beautiful versions of ourselves all the while knowing we are protected by our Creator.
Hello.
I’m Jordyn!
I am so happy you’re here!
If I had to choose one word to describe myself, it would be, passionate. I currently hold the titles of Wife, Daughter, Sister, Friend, and now… Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. Some things that bring me peace and joy include Christmas with my whole extended family, baking sourdough, red light therapy, listening to jazz music, and sweating in the sauna.
A little insight into my personality… I was once invited to an important work meeting because I “smile and laugh all the time;” and they hoped that would brighten the mood.
I am no stranger to health and weight challenges. In late 2019 I decided to take things into my own hands and began to do my own research. I remember feeling two things, amazed at a world of new information that seemed to go against the “status quo” and confusion about all of the conflicting information out there!
Eventually, I enrolled with the Nutritional Therapy Association to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. I wanted to learn more about the human body and the science behind “good health”.
If any of this resonates with you, I would love to get to know you and discuss getting started on your journey to your best self. I can assure you that the journey is much easier when you have someone passionately pursuing your goals alongside you!
With love,
Jordyn
